NETELLER to
Change Name to NEOVIA Financial
October
8 - This week leading London Stock Exchange-listed online
payment processor NETELLER plc - which process online
payments from over160 countries - announced that on November
17th this year it will change its name to NEOVIA Financial plc.
NETELLER, which was launched in 1999, has evolved into
the globe's largest successful
independent Internet money transfer business, annually
processing billions of dollars in online payment transactions
for companies and individuals based all over the world.
The company famously made news headlines a few years ago as one
of the first international firms to be targeted by the US
Justice Department as part of America's widespread clampdown on
online gambling operations, resulting in a hefty $136 million
fine.
NETELLER grew to its current size largely as a result of being
the first online payment processor to encourage online gambling
fans to use its services to fund and withdraw money securely
from online casinos, poker rooms, bingo casinos and sports
betting sites.
Officials from NETELLER confirmed that its name change to NEOVIA
Financial is part of the company's re-branding strategy aimed at
differentiating the company from it major brands, which include
NETBANX, Net+ and of course NETELLER itself.
Since the United States banned online gambling in October 2006,
NETELLER - as in the case of most other online gambling-related
firms - was forced to seek out new markets and business
opportunities which have predominantly been in Europe and Asia.
