Craps Overview
Craps
is considered one of the more complicated online casino games
that you can play. This is due to the fast pace of the
game and the large number of different bets that can be placed.
As a casino table game, online craps is played by several players
and is centered on the outcome of a pair of dice. In a
nutshell, players place their bets on numbers that they want to
come up and those they don't. The player who throws the dice is
known as the 'shooter'.
If you become the shooter in craps, your first throw or roll is called
the 'come out roll'. Before you throw the dice, players can
place money on 'Pass Line Bets'.
These are bets that are placed on actual numbers coming up. So,
if you throw 11 or 7, all Pass Line Bets win. If you throw 12, 3
or 2, all Pass Line Bets lose.
Any of the remaining numbers (10, 9, 8, 6, 5 and 4) are known as
the 'point'.
Should the you throw the point in craps, you must continue to throw until
you either throw the point number or a 7. If you throw the point
number before you throw a 7, all Pass Line Bets win. Should you
throw a 7 first, all Pass Line Bets lose.
As you can imagine, a game of craps can go on for quite a while
waiting for either of these numbers to come up. It's what makes
the game of craps so exhilerating and exciting!
Common Craps Bets
Pass Line Bets
- As mentioned above, they pay out on a come out
roll of 11 or 7 and lose on 12, 3 or 2. Any other numbers become
know as the point. Pass Line Bets pay 1:1.
Don’t Pass Line Bets
- These bets work in basically the opposite
way to Pass Line Bets. They pay out on a come out roll of 3 or 2
and lose on 11 or 7. If 12 is thrown, the bet is known as a
'push' and the player gets his bet back.
All other numbers become the point. If you throw a 7 first,
Don't Pass Line Bets win and lose if you throw a point number
first. Don't Pass Line Bets pay 1:1.
Come Bets
- These bets are similar or Pass Line Bets except they
are placed after the shooters come out roll. Craps players can
place Come Bets once the 'point' has been set after the come out
throw.
Come Bets win if your next throw is 11 or 7, and lose if your
next roll is12, 3 or 2. Come Bets pay 1:1.
Don’t Come Bets
- These bets work in basically the opposite way
to Come Bets. Don't Come Bets win if your next throw is 3 or and
lose if your next roll is 11 or 7. If 12 is thrown, the bet is
known as a 'push' and the player gets his bet back. Don't Come
Bets pay 1:1.
It is important to know that in craps only Don’t Pass Line Bets and Don’t
Come Bets are allowed to be removed or altered after being
placed.
